Memories From The Kitchen

Ouch, the temperature which was balmy this morning is rapidly changing to the brrrrrrrrrrr side of chilly and it is only lunch time and supposed to dip even lower...Ouch!  Winter is quickly making its presence felt!

WITH only 50 days until Christmas morning arrives, it is time to begin thinking of what your going to be serving in the way of Christmas eats, and no better time than right now to begin preparing those special treats your so famous for!

Cold weather makes me remember coming in from playing outside and the aroma of something delicious having made an appearance in the kitchen!   Hot soups, pot pies, casseroles, cookies, pies and hot chocolate with marshmallows, baked apples, lasagna, or thick rigatoni, mmmmm mmm!

Frozen dinners, pies or desserts made in a large factory are becoming a thing of the past with the resurgence of doing it yourself, in your kitchen.  Nothing is as delectable or creates more memories than that special something you cooked up for your family and friends.  CHILDREN are now becoming very interested in cooking and baking and there is no time like the present to gift someone with an interest or passion for being in the kitchen!

Etsy shops have a wonderful variety of baking, serving and entertainment items you may wish to replace or add to your collection, and now is really the time to make this happen!

Baking for Christmas is special, it is the special dishes and treats only you make and serve that your family and friends rave about so lets take a look at some wonderful kitchen items we might need to replace or to give to the budding chef or the newly wed couple to help them start their own Christmas baking and entertaining traditions.

THIS would make a super Christmas gift to give that young couple just starting out!  This comes from the TealsPrairie shop!  Such a fun shop to spend some time shopping around.

Christmas is a busy season for you and for your family and friends, so preparing meals ahead of time is something you probably do to make certain everything goes smoothly at this busy time of the year.

There is a variety of  newly Hand made or Vintage Casserole and baking dishes available in Etsy shops!  Take a look at this beautiful set of baking dishes from the CarolinaCrockery shop!  I love its color and the variety of sizes makes this a very attractive gift to own or to give!

Now from the NestingComforts shop comes these beautiful pair of baking Ramekins vintage from Finland.  The perfect gift from you to someone who would appreciate these to no end!  Hmmmmm wonder if Santa would mind me adding these to my list????   I just love the decorated interior edging!

Men and women as well as youngsters across the world are once again beginning to show off their culinary talents and what better a gift to give a budding chef than their own personalized baking dish, like this one from the PigPen?

There is nothing more sumptious or as soothing in cold weather than to come home from being out of doors to the taste of warm goodies or baked apples, hot chocolate with marshmallows and crispy oatmeal cookies!  Mmmm Mmmm!  The children will be over the moon!
Take these Apple Bakers, made for you by the ChristianRidgePotter!

Or individual pot pies straight from the oven to warm not only their tummies but the cockles of their hearts making memories of moms' hot pot pies being an event!

I found these individual baking dishes at RebeccasVGVintage!  These sunshine yellow dishes will not only bake your famous individual pies  they'll dress and cheer up your table with their bright yellow sunshine color... kids remember things like these!
